
Walk Like MADD Long Island

Every stride at Walk Like MADD in Long Island brings us closer to ending impaired driving, a public safety crisis that is worsening in New York. On Sunday, May 4th, impaired driving survivors, victims’ families, law enforcement, and advocates will rally at Northwell at Jones Beach Theater for Walk Like MADD Long Island, a powerful event that brings the community together to raise money that directly funds MADD’s 24/7 free victim services.

What: Walk Like MADD Long Island – A walk raising awareness & funds to fight impaired driving and provide free support services to victims of this preventable crime. This year’s event will feature a Community & Engagement Fair with live music, venue tours, networking, art activities, and more. There will also be a special Victim Tribute Area at the events so victims have a private space.

This isn’t just a walk—it’s a movement. With impaired driving fatalities up 33% nationwide since 2019, and drunk driving crashes making up 32% of all traffic fatalities in New York in 2022, this year’s Walk Like MADD is more urgent than ever. Participants will share personal stories of loss, survival, and resilience—stories that underscore the toll of impaired driving and the urgency to act now.
