The Inaugural Long Island Museum Book Fair

The Long Island Museum will be hosting its first-ever LIM Book Fair on Saturday, September 6th — providing the community with access to a vast selection of gently used books for all age groups, and giving book-lovers the opportunity to find many literary treasures and bargains while enjoying free admission to the Museum’s exhibitions.
The inaugural LIM Book Fair will take place on September 6th from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at The Long Island Museum, located at 1200 Route 25A in Stony Brook. Most books will be priced at $4 or less, with special bundle deals available. The LIM Book Fair will feature an extensive children’s books section, as well as a “Special Books” section with individually priced books, and will offer a wide range of books across many different categories and genres – including Classics, Cookbooks, Crafts & Hobbies, Fiction, Gardening & Nature, History, Self-Help, Sports, Travel, and more. Proceeds of the book fair benefit the Museum’s programming and exhibitions, and book donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
As part of the Museum’s “Culper Spy Day” activities on September 6th , attendees at the September 6th LIM Book Fair will also be treated to complimentary admission to LIM’s three museums and their exhibitions, as well as fun activities for kids. The LIM History Museum currently features Triumph of Nature: Art Nouveau from the Chrysler Museum of Art, the LIM Art Museum currently features two just-opened exhibitions – Gatsby at 100 and Giants and Gems — and the LIM’s renowned Carriage Museum includes eight galleries that tell the story of transportation before the automobile. Book fair attendees will also have the opportunity to stroll the LIM’s beautiful 9-acre campus filled with art installations, a fountain garden and historic buildings, including a one-room schoolhouse.
