The Christensen Gallery Presents: “The Fine Art of Jack Faragasso”
The Christensen Gallery is thrilled to announce its upcoming exhibition, “The Fine Art of Jack Faragasso,” a celebration of the extraordinary career of artist, illustrator, and educator Jack Faragasso. The exhibition will run from January 9th, 2025, to February 8th, 2025, with an opening reception on Friday, January 10th, from 6 PM to 9 PM.
Jack Faragasso, a longtime instructor at the prestigious Art Students League of New York, is renowned for his profound influence on generations of artists and his remarkable versatility across various artistic mediums. His career spans decades, from captivating book cover illustrations and portraiture to his acclaimed work as an author and educator.
Faragasso’s connection to the iconic Bettie Page, the legendary 1950s pin-up queen, adds an intriguing chapter to his legacy. Known for his skillful depiction of the human form, Faragasso captured the vivacity of Page in works that remain timeless.
In addition to his artwork, Faragasso is the author of several published books, including “The Student’s Guide to Painting”, which has been a cornerstone for aspiring artists worldwide. His book cover illustrations have graced countless novels, bringing vivid visual interpretations to life for science fiction, romance, and mystery readers.
This exhibition will feature a curated selection of Faragasso’s works in various mediums over the years, offering visitors an intimate view of his artistic journey. Highlights include original works from his Bettie Page series, rare book cover art, drawings and studies from early in his
career, and of course his works in oil showcasing his mastery in classical painting techniques. “We are honored to host this exhibition celebrating Jack Faragasso’s legacy,” said gallery owner and curator, Theresa Christensen. “His contributions to the art world as both a creator and mentor are immeasurable, and this exhibition will give audiences a unique opportunity to explore his impact and artistry.”
The Christensen Gallery invites art enthusiasts, collectors, and the general public to attend the opening reception and celebrate the work of an artist whose career has left an indelible mark on the art world.
