Swing Into Spring Concert: A Night of Music and Swing Dancing

St. John’s Huntington is delighted to host a superb Swing Music concert  and dancing on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Great Hall of St. John’s  church, located at the intersection of Main Street and Prospect Street, Huntington Village. The Revisionists a six-piece band will provide tunes from famous Big Bands of the past for listening and dancing pleasure.  Additionally, swing dance professionals will be offering dance lessons from 4 to 5 p.m. at a very reasonable rate.

St. John’s Director of Music and Artist in Residence, Alex Pryrodny, has noted, “Throughout its history, jazz music has developed hand-in-hand with dance, from the early ragtime and foxtrot to the boom of the swing era when legendary big bands from Benny Goodman to Duke Ellington created the soundtrack for the most innovative dancers of their time. St. John’s “Jazz Connections” series in Huntington, now in its 2nd year, is bringing back the spirit of those times.  This live music and dance event features one of the hottest swing dance bands in New York City, The Revisionists.

Also, award-winning local swing dance duo Chris and Courtney Thaler join with of other professional and semi-professional dancers. Step into the Prohibition era atmosphere with sparkling chandeliers, high table-top tables, refreshments, whirling dancers and electrifying sounds of swing jazz with a modern twist.
