Substance Use Treatment Mobile Unit Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Bridging Access to Care (BAC) is hosting a ribbon-cutting event to launch its new mobile unit (MU). This MU will expand BAC’s ongoing efforts to provide vital substance use treatment services to all parts of Brooklyn and New York City, including medication-assisted treatment and overdose prevention kits. According to the latest report released in November 2022 from the Office of NYS Comptroller, the rise in opioid-related deaths “grew by almost 300 percent between 2010 and 2020 to comprise 85 percent of all drug overdose deaths in New York in 2020.” Equipped with two medical rooms and WiFi capability, this MU will be paired with other critical services including mental health, HCV/HIV/STI screenings, and health information for those who are most in need.
