(mostly) TRUE THINGS is a game wrapped in a storytelling show, featuring true personal stories told by comedy-wrangling, heartstrings-pulling storytellers from all walks of life. The theme for this evening of stories is TAKE CARE told by:

Dawn Shedrick, (author of Guided Journal For Caregivers, social worker, professor at Columbia University School Of Social Work)

Gloria Rosen (writer/performer, her solo autobiographical show Listen, Can You Hear Me Now? about growing up a hearing child of 2 deaf parents has been performed all over the world).

Dawn Powers Borchers (a storyteller who is also an international sales and marketing professional based in Port Jefferson Station, NY)

Jean Candiotte (Emmy-nominated TV Creative Executive, improviser, storyteller)

Jude Treder-Wolff, host (is active in the NY and national storytelling scene, featured most recently in Generation Women at Joe’s Pub, RISK! live show and podcast, The Story Collider live show and podcast, Story District in Washington, DC, Ex Fabula in Milwaukee, WI, PBS Stories From The Stage and many more.)

The game is this: all but one of the storytellers include carefully-crafted, subtle little lies into their story. In Act 2, the audience gets to question the storytellers – who can improvise their responses – then votes for the person they think told their story with no lies. Some improvised, story-inspired music and songs written for the show by host/creator Jude Treder-Wolff are additional ingredients for a high-energy, often hilarious, emotion-packed and entertaining show. There are prizes involved, if you can believe a thing like that.

”Self-medicate with real-life therapist Jude Treder-Wolff and her line-up of storytellers. Expect the unexpected. And without the hourly rates!” New York Daily News

”A great show in a great space. Perfect to bring a loved one for a night out with friends.” Diane Caruso, Push/Pause TV
