Minority Enterprise Development Week (MED Week) Offers a venue for minority-owned firms to access information, tools, and resources to grow their businesses both domestically and internationally through networking events, workshops, and issue forums.  The events that compose MED Week are meant to raise awareness among minority business owners, and the larger business community and support these businesses in their efforts to grow to scale.

For the last two years the LI African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc., served as a participating organization in the Community Navigator Pilot Program, which was funded in part through United States Black Chamber’s grant with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A theme of MED Week each year is that Minority entrepreneurs can benefit from increased commitment of the federal and state governments to award contracts to them, but only if they first have a strong, well-organized operation, officials said at last year’s conference.
