Meet & Greet with Charlotte Community Garden

Come join us for a meet and greet with Charlotte Community Garden co-founder Rae Paoletta from 11-3pm on June 28th.
Charlotte Community Garden was founded in 2025 by two Oakdale residents and local gardeners, Rae Paoletta and Stacey DeFelice. It is located next to St. John’s Episcopal Church in Oakdale (1 Berard Blvd).
Named after the original title given to St. John’s Church (“Charlotte Church,”) the community garden pays tribute to Oakdale’s past and present while investing in its future. The garden hosts more than 250 plants and counting, as well as a compost bin where anyone in the community can bring food scraps. It also hosts a native plant garden that helps support local pollinators.
100% of our harvests will go to people and families who need them. We work with Uplift Our Towns, ECLI Vibes, Eileen’s Free Bodega, and more. These organizations work to help domestic violence survivors, women and children, and people experiencing food insecurity. We want to support these causes and our community by giving food directly to people and orgs at no cost.
This summer, the garden will also host free, beginner-friendly classes for people who want to learn how to garden and/or compost at home.
