Ecotherapy, also known as Forest Therapy or Forest Bathing is not the same thing as hiking or a simple walk in the woods, or on a beach. The focus of Ecotherapy is on connection and relationship, allowing the heart to open to the beauty of the natural world, and at the same time, understand our belonging in that world.

A certified guide is not a therapist. Nature is the therapy. Support for wellness, personal development and perhaps even healing comes to participants from their interaction with natural environments*.

Certified Forest Therapy guide, Linda Lombardo, who has been guiding walks here at Sands Point Preserve for the last six years, will share some of the science as well as the relational benefits of mindful connection with nature. This will be partly a presentation and mostly an experience for the audience.
