Holi (Indian Festival of Colors) Celebration at Riverside
Join us in a special puppet storytime with author Anu Sehgal, also the founder of The Culture Tree, where she reads from her book Kahani Rangeeli (linked here). NYPL will celebrate Holi with a beautiful event hosted by The Culture Tree, a NY-based organization that promotes cultural literacy about South Asia.
Holi, the Indian festival of colors, celebrates the arrival of spring, the end of winter, and the blossoming of love and friendship. It is celebrated in March, corresponding to the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna. In 2023, Holi is on March 8. It is now celebrated around the world as a way to welcome spring, embrace inclusivity and get messy with color.
The celebration will be followed by art activities and Holi face painting, all while listening to beautiful songs and music of Holi.
**PLEASE NOTE: Space is limited to only 25 participants. Tickets available on the day of the event upon library opening. The child MUST BE PRESENT to collect a ticket.
