Join us at the Great Neck Library to celebrate Black History Month with a presentation by Howard Rosenberg who will uncover the many Unsung Heroes that are African American Medical Pioneers. The event will be at the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, on Friday, February 21, at 2:00 p.m.
African Americans have been at the forefront of many important medical advances. Discover the unknown contributions of Pittsburgh’s Freedom House Ambulance Corps, the first in the nation; Staten Island’s Black Angels, nursing pioneers in the treatment of tuberculosis; and more.
