Come see the art exhibit by Lori Weisbart-Polson titled “Faces and Places” from September 3-26 in the Great Neck Main Library’s Lower-Level Art Gallery at 159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck.

Lori Weisbart-Polson is an award-winning artist whose work was selected by a Guggenheim Museum curator for a juried exhibit. She began painting and studying art at a young age. In her twenties she attended classes at the Art Students League in New York City and traveled through Southern France on painting workshops. Her artwork is in private collections and galleries across the country. Lori has a BA in Communications from The American University and an Associate Degree in Advertising Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her true love is painting and drawing. In addition to enjoying fine art, Lori has been representing preeminent portrait painters for over twenty years. Clients include MIT, Yale, Brown, Dartmouth, and Cornell.

When words aren’t enough to convey, Lori says she’s compelled to paint. She hopes that when the viewer walks away from seeing her paintings, they feel something, anything. Perhaps they will want to create themselves. The viewer may realize, “This is it.” She feels that we only have one life; enjoy it, relish in the turmoil and the achievements, and take it all in. There is no need to bypass life with all of its ups and downs. Lori states that there’s not always necessarily something profound she’s trying to communicate but says there’s usually intense emotion. You can learn more about Lori and her art at loriweisbartart.com.
