Cultivating Oyster Mushrooms on Straw

Sunday, March 16 2025. 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Growing mushrooms can be intimidating, but there is no better companion to learn with than the Oyster Mushroom. Hardy, fast-growing, delicious and prolific, oyster mushrooms are aggressive decomposers of cellulose and excellent recyclers of paper, fabric and wastewood. Get ready for a big day of spawn shopping and preparation, different methods of pasteurization, inoculation practices, monitoring of colonization and methods to induce fruiting.

P.S. If you attended last months Oyster Mushroom Workshop, we highly recommend this follow up! You can use your work from the past class to improve your harvest and learn advanced inoculation techniques!
