Culper Spy Day
Three Village Historical Society & Museum presents the 11th Annual Culper Spy Day on Saturday, September 6, in partnership with Tri Spy Tours. Visit local historic sites, hop on & off a complimentary trolley tour around town, and explore the TVHS museum grounds as we host authors, artists, and community organizations to put on a living history show like no other.
Set in Setauket – the heart of the Washington Spy Trail – Culper Spy Day is a must-see heritage tourist destination for history lovers of all ages to discover our Revolutionary roots right here on Long Island.
You’ll get to enjoy docent-led museum tours, engage with historical re-enactors, taste test the colonial cooking demonstrations, listen to live music on historic instruments, scope out a mobile gift shop with new Culper merch, and stock your library at Authors Row with book signings and meet & greets.
Children love listening to story time, playing lawn games, competing in potato sack races, solving the clues in the epic scavenger hunt, decoding their spy names, sending wax sealed letters, making colonial crafts, experimenting with invisible ink, and building a scale model timber frame house alongside Abraham Woodhull.
In the field, Culper Spy Day hosts several regiments on site to drill, set up encampments, pitch their tents, fire off cannons, and present a flag raising ceremony to General George Washington.
Perhaps the most incredible part of Culper Spy Day is that it is free and open to the public!
