Islip Public Library begins their 100th anniversary concert series with classical music from the jazz age featuring violin, cello, and piano performed by the world-class professional musicians of Long Island Chamber Music. Enjoy compositions by the great George Gershwin as well as his
compositional influences Nadia Boulanger, Maurice Ravel, as well as the lush music by jazz age composers of the Harlem Renaissance, William Grant Still and Margaret Bonds. Long Island Chamber Music (LICM) musicians are drawn from Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect, the New York Philharmonic, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Astral Artists, and several other of the country’s most prominent musical institutions.
