Classic Movie: My Darling Clementine (1946)
Directed by John Ford, this film stars Henry Ford as Wyatt Earp and Victor Mature as Doc Holliday. After Wyatt Earp and his brothers stop for a night in the town of Tombstone, they awake to find their cattle stolen and their brother James dead. Earp decides to stay in town to avenge his brother’s murder, which he suspects the vicious Clanton family is responsible for. Along the way, he runs into Doc Holliday and falls for his former girlfriend, Clementine. The film is considered to be one of director John Ford’s best and legendizes the story of Wyatt Earp and the shootout at the O.K. Corral.
