Black Pitmasters with Deb Freeman (Zoom)
The history of American barbecue goes as far back as the founding of this country. The original enslaved pitmasters contributed to the popularity and spread of barbecue-style cooking across the United States. Ms. Freeman will explore the origins of American barbecue and the legacy of Black pitmasters over the centuries. We’ll also learn how their contributions still show up on our plates today.
