Black History Festival and Icon Awards

Presented by Community Education Council District 29Q, the Black History Festival and icon awards is a community event that celebrates the contributions and achievements of Black people in Queens, NY, and around America. Be there for live music and performances by student artists and musicians, Fashion Show by Fathers from District 29 displaying Black Queens, NY designers, food vendors demonstrating a variety of African-American cuisine and traditional dishes from the African diaspora, Cultural displays and exhibits that showcase African-American history, art, and achievements, an awards ceremony that will highlight individuals that have contributed to the rich Black History of Queen, NY, educational and artistic workshops, seminars, and discussions address topics related to the African-American community and their experiences, and community resources and information on local organizations that support and empower the African-American community.

Overall, this Black History Festival in Queens, NY, is a celebration of Black culture and heritage and an opportunity for people to come together and learn about the contributions of the African-American community.
