Art Workshop Wednesday For Kids

July 2, 3:30 pm.

Kids ages 4-12 are invited to 53rd St Library to do art from 3:30-4:30 PM each Wednesday. We’ll work with different materials to create new art each week!

No registration is needed for this workshop. Please just show up to our children’s floor on the Lower Level by 3:40 PM and join in. Enough materials will be provided for at least 10 children each week. We will provide books to tie in with our craft themes. Younger children may participate in modified versions of the craft if it is possible.

Our workshops for July 2025:

July 2- Fossils!

Embed plastic bugs and/or seashells into air-dry clay, either to make fossil “geodes” to chip away at later or to stamp into clay to make decorative “fossils”!

July 9- Noisemakers

Make a pasta-filled percussion noisemaker decorated with feathers and other accessories!

July 16- Beads!

We have beads, and you have ideas! Make a bracelet, a necklace or a keychain!

July 23- Matisse Cutouts

“Watercolor” using tissue paper and watercolor paper, and then cut out abstract shapes to form colorful expressionist collages!

July 30- Art Sand!

Use glue to make lines on the paper and scatter colorful sand to make mazes, designs or more!
